After 45 years of dedicated service, commitment and remarkable contribution to ESB, Colm Twomey (EMP) will retire on Wednesday 3rd July.
Colm joined ESB in 1979 where he started his career in the ESB Transmission Department. Notably, he was responsible for the design of multiple high profile substations in Ireland, in particular on the transmission network. He also delivered several international projects. He was appointed Substation Design Manager where he was responsible for leading a large engineering team to deliver substation designs for a multitude of projects stretching almost two decades.
More recently Colm has been an immeasurable source of knowledge, and model of professionalism and commitment in particular to our early career staff, actively mentoring and training the next generation of engineers and leaders.
To mark Colm’s substantial contribution to the organisation a presentation will be made in EMP, One DAC, Dublin Airport offices at 15:30 on Wednesday 3rd July. The presentation will be followed by celebratory refreshments in Doheny and Nesbitt’s on Baggot Street Lower from 7pm.
