Announcements

With over 46 years’ service our friend and colleague Tadhg O Neill HV Stations Cork has decided it’s time to park up the yellow van and retire.
This is a closing chapter of over 100 years of dedicated service to the ESB from the O Neill Family as Tadhg’s Dad Terry and uncle Timmy previously worked in ESB for over 50 years.
Tuesday 5th August 2024 will be Tadhg’s last day and we in HV Stations Cork wish Tadhg the very best of luck, health and happiness on the next chapter of his life.
Tadhg joined ESB in June 1978 working in Albert Road followed by a stint in the Pole Field in Blackpool.
He then moved in 1979 to HV Stations where he has been ever present until August 2024.
Tadhg has guided many new NTs through their apprenticeships and through their careers as Network Technicians ,Managers, Supervisors and beyond.

Tadhg has made a significant contribution to all the major upgrades in HV Stations Cork over the past 45 years in places like Knockraha, Aghada, Raffeen Kilbarry, Liberty St, Barrymore just to mention a few.
Tadhg covered the length and breadth of Ireland in his role in the last few years delivering materials, spare parts, collecting goods etc and we are in great debt to Tadhg for always being available to ESB day and night.
He was the main stay behind the Marina /Liberty Street 110 Kv Cable project in the late 90’s and is always willing and helpful to answer questions and guide people along when required.
On behalf of all in HV Stations Cork we would like to wish Tadhg his wife Deirdre and family a long and happy retirement and thank him for his dedication and service to the ESB over the last 46 years.
We would like to thank him for always being there for us as a friend, a guidance counsellor, financial advisor ,a teammate many more roles that would take too long to mention.
I can say hand on heart that Tadhg is one of the best you could meet in any walk of life and we all wish him the very best of luck in his retirement and we will all miss his presence in HV Stations Cork.
We wish him well into the future and if you want to catch up with Tadhg you might find him up in Mayfield Utd or in The Avia or on the Boardwalk in Youghal.
